Candidate Seminar: Week 1!
Tomorrow marks the end of week one! We have learned so much, and the Lord has really challenged our thinking and broadened our perspective on the church, culture, missions and so much more! It would be impossible to share all that we have learned. We are so thankful for the opportunity to be here, for it has been a balm to our souls.
Every day we begin at 8:30 with a time of prayer. We are in class from 9:00-3:00, breaking for lunch, and of course, coffee. They keep us well-supplied on java, and we are very thankful for that!
Our afternoons and evenings consist of various interviews and reviews of different assessments we took prior to attending Candidate Seminar. We are thankful for BMWs willingness to sit down with us and create a plan for us to develop our gifts and grow into more effective servants of Christ.
The Lord has given many opportunities to fellowship with the other candidates and veteran missionaries. What a privilege it has been to learn from them! The Lord has given us a special bond with many of these people. We serve a sovereign God, and it has been amazing to see how He has prepared all of our hearts to be together for such a time as this.
Thank you to all who have been praying for us. Our hearts are full of praise to God for His leading in our lives and directing us to BMW. I don't know that I've ever wanted to weep for joy as much as I have in the past week. We know that this is where God wants us, and we are thankful to be His servants in the Great Commission. "I will sing to the LORD, because He has dealt bountifully with me" (Psalm 13:6).
