September Update

Since our last update, we had a meeting in Alabama - the land of Chick-Fil-A, sweet tea, and the Auburn vs. Crimson Tide rivalry! The Lord gave us a good meeting; We presented our ministry at Tri-City Baptist Church during Sunday School. We were very encouraged by the interest expressed in our ministry through the many questions that were asked. We provided offertory and special music, and then Jeffrey preached for the morning service. We enjoyed the fellowship with the people of Tri-City Baptist, and we were very thankful for the opportunity to spend time with our friends, Bobby and Melissa. We have a few pictures below.

While we are in the process of scheduling meetings, we have been keeping busy in Greenville. Jeffrey is still serving as the Education Pastor at our sending church. For him, September marked the beginning of Good News Club, an outreach program to a local elementary school. Jeff has been leading this program for two years. While it is a lot of work, this is a great and rare opportunity to take the Gospel into the public school system! There are many Spanish-speaking people in this area, so Jeffrey has been able to communicate with some of the parents who do not speak English. Please pray for fruit from this ministry!

Lisa is currently working on developing her knowledge of the Spanish language. She has been meeting weekly with Marcy, a member of our church who used to teach Spanish at Bob Jones University. We are very thankful for Marcy's willingness to help Lisa build a foundation in the Spanish language.

We currently do not have any meetings scheduled until November. Many missionaries come through the Greenville area, so we have not been able to schedule as many meetings as we had hoped. Psalm 23:3 says, "He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake." We are trusting the Lord, knowing that He will lead us to the right churches and provide meetings in the right places. We are so thankful that God's leading is always good, and it is always right. Please pray for us as we continue to contact churches and set up meetings. In the meantime, we will strive to be faithful where God has us here in Greenville. Thank you for your faithful prayers for us. Truly, the greatest work we can do is on our knees.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for the Good News Club outreach program.

2. Pray for more deputation meetings.

3. Pray for Jeffrey as he continues to prepare for ordination (January 2018).

4. Please pray for wisdom as we plan for full-time deputation (February 2018).

About Us

Our hearts are burdened for the Ecuadorian people who have never heard the Gospel, people who have been blinded by traditions and customs. We hope to reach these people with the love of Christ. Our desire is to build the church by evangelizing the lost, making disciples and training leaders.
