November is often considered the month of Thanksgiving. We were very thankful for a good meeting at the beginning of the month, but we faced some challenges in November. Health difficulties, changes in plans and disappointments made it hard to be thankful. As much as we like to plan, life can really be unpredictable and unstable. Through the ebb and flow of this month, God has continually been reminding us that HE is our stability. When our circumstances change, when our plans fall through, our God is still the same God, and He continually guides our steps. We need not fear for what lies ahead, because God has delivered us from our fears. This gives us cause to praise Him. Psalm 34:3-4 says, "Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together! I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears."
We truly did have a good meeting at the beginning of the month. On November 5th, we had the pleasure of ministering at Calvary Baptist Church in Loganville, GA. This church is currently without a pastor, but it was so encouraging to see the unity of the body! Everyone made us feel so welcome, and we had a lot of sweet fellowship there. Jeffrey preached for the morning service, and then we presented our ministry in the evening. Lisa had the opportunity to minister in music through singing and playing her viola. We praise the Lord for the opportunity to be at Calvary. They are a very missions-minded church, and we were very encouraged by their interest in our ministry.
We have been praying for the Lord to establish a team to work with us in Ecuador, in addition to ourselves and the veteran missionaries. We are happy to share that our friends from Alabama, Bobby and Melissa Woodfin, will be joining us as coworkers on the field. We praise the Lord for His leading in their lives! They will be visiting Ecuador with us in April. This trip will serve as the annual Field Conference with our Area Director from our mission board and the other missionaries on the field. This will be a great opportunity for us to do a survey trip and explore target cities for new ministry.
While the Lord has not provided any meetings for December, we are thankful for the opportunity to continue serving in our sending church. He has also given the time to spend the holidays with family. We will spend Christmas and New Years in Pennsylvania with Lisa's family, and then we will be in Greenville for the month of January. While our schedule is full until mid-April, We are currently praying about where to schedule meetings for May and June. Our original plans for those months fell through. Please pray that we would have wisdom to know what churches to contact. "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps" (Proverbs 16:9).
Praises and Prayer Requests:
