March Update

“I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.

I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High” (Psalm 9:1-2).

Greetings and Happy Easter! As we recount the deeds of the Lord over the past month, we are reminded that none of these things would be possible if Christ had not performed the ultimate deed of facing the cross of Calvary. As we celebrate the risen Savior today, we rejoice in the new life we are given. However, we are also reminded of those who don’t understand the resurrection. There are still many who do not understand the hope of the Gospel. What a privilege God has given us to take the Good News to the people of Ecuador!

Last month, we asked you to pray that the Lord would provide more financial supporters. The Lord has answered those prayers! In the past month, the Lord has provided another supporting church, as well as two individual supporters. When we started traveling in February, our support level was 16%. We are happy and thankful to be able to share that our support level has increased to 22%! We have also received several gifts towards our Outgoing Expenses. It is exciting to see the Lord’s provision. These are just a few of the wonderful deeds that God has done in the past month.

We had three meetings in Illinois last month. We are thankful that our meetings were in close proximity to each other, so we did not have much traveling in between meetings. Our first meeting was a Mission’s Conference. This was an exciting time that provided us with a lot of great ministry opportunities! We really enjoyed all the different churches that we visited, and we are thankful for the fellowship that the Lord provided. Since we did not travel much during the month, we took advantage of some good opportunities during the weeks. Jeff was able to meet with another local pastor about a potential meeting, and we were able to get other contacts as well. We filled in as substitute teachers for three Spanish classes at a Christian school, and Jeff had the opportunity to preach in chapel. We were also able to take a tour of a farm and try out an authentic Ecuadorian restaurant!

This week brings our long-anticipated trip to Ecuador! We will arrive in Quito on Tuesday evening and spend the week in Riobamba. The following week we will travel to the coast with Jeffrey’s parents and our national coworkers, Marco and Marlene Cruz. We will be joined by our new coworkers, the Woodfins, our Area Director and his wife, and a speaker for the Field Conference. This conference is a time of spiritual refreshment, encouragement and planning for future ministry. After the Conference, we will spend several days in Guano. This gives us the opportunity to survey the town, look at housing options and see what other religious groups are in the town. Jeffrey’s parents have already begun making contacts in the town. Please pray for the ministry in Guano: that the Lord would give wisdom and direction to Kevin and Trina and that God would work in the hearts of the people they will meet.

This will be the Woodfins’ first time in Ecuador, so it is a very important trip for them. We are really excited about the opportunity for them to see Ecuador! If you use Social Media, please be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram. We will try to post pictures and updates during our trip. Traveling internationally, especially to a third-world country, always brings the risk of contracting different viruses and illnesses. Please pray for safety and good health during our travels.

Please continue to pray that the Lord would provide meetings for us. We are continually contacting churches to schedule meetings. However, if you know of churches that are looking to support new missionaries, please feel free to pass our information to them or contact us with their information. We just scheduled a meeting for late April as a result of someone providing us with a contact. For our full itinerary, please click HERE. Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for us!

Praise and Prayer:

1. Praise: 3 meetings in the month of March

2. Praise: Increase in support and Outgoing Funds

3. Pray: Start of new ministry in Guano

4. Pray: Safety and good health during our trip

5. Pray: Provision of additional meetings

About Us

Our hearts are burdened for the Ecuadorian people who have never heard the Gospel, people who have been blinded by traditions and customs. We hope to reach these people with the love of Christ. Our desire is to build the church by evangelizing the lost, making disciples and training leaders.
