August Update

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” ~ Psalm 37:5

This month, the Lord has been reminding us of our need to commit all things to Him. This month we faced some vehicle issues while we were traveling, and there were also some health concerns. God promises that He will act. We had to remember to trust Him to work all things out for our good and His glory. We are thankful for how He has acted. He allowed us to fix our car, and the health concerns were resolved. We praise the Lord because He is trustworthy, and we can commit our way to His very capable hands. We are also very thankful for His mercies as we were on the road.

In the month of August, we traveled over 4,300 miles! We began by traveling to Denver, CO to participate in the Missions Conference at Beth Eden Baptist Church. This conference was such a refreshing time for us. We enjoyed so much fellowship with the church body, and we truly appreciate their heart for missions. We also had the opportunity to sit down with the pastoral staff and discuss missions on a deeper level. This was an encouraging time of learning from men who have many years of ministry experience. We praise the Lord for these opportunities!

We ended the month at Grace Community Church in Beckley, WV. We visited with this church in April, and they had asked us to visit them again. We are not always able to revisit churches, so we were very thankful for another opportunity to spend the day with this dear group of people. We enjoyed talking with the pastor, who also has a great burden for missions, and he strives to share that with the church people. Please be in prayer as they consider a financial partnership with us. They will be voting on Wednesday, September 5th.

We are currently in Pennsylvania awaiting the arrival of our son, Simon. The doctors had some concerns about Lisa’s blood pressure being too high, but things seem to have been resolved in that matter. The doctors are monitoring her and Simon closely, and encouraging her to rest as much as possible. We are very thankful for Lisa’s doctors and for their attentive care for her. Please pray that the Lord would allow for a smooth and safe delivery. We have just over two weeks until Simon’s estimated due date, and we are anxious for his arrival!

We are very thankful that the Lord has been filling up our fall traveling schedule. We have been able to schedule 4 meetings in the New England area. Please pray that the Lord would provide additional meetings in the same general area. As we approach Thanksgiving and Christmas, it is difficult to schedule meetings, but we still have several slots that we would like to fill. Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for us!

Praise and Prayer:

1. Praise: Safety during a busy summer of traveling

2. Praise: Encouraging Missions Conference in Colorado

3. Praise and Pray: More meetings to fill our fall schedule

4. Pray: Potential partnership with Grace Community Church in WV

5. Pray: Safe and healthy delivery of Simon (due 9/19/18)

About Us

Our hearts are burdened for the Ecuadorian people who have never heard the Gospel, people who have been blinded by traditions and customs. We hope to reach these people with the love of Christ. Our desire is to build the church by evangelizing the lost, making disciples and training leaders.
