October-November Update

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

~ 2 Corinthians 12:9 ~

The past few weeks have felt like a whirlwind to us! In 3 weeks, the Lord gave us 5 meetings. We are so thankful for those opportunities to present our hearts for the people of Ecuador. Through all the traveling, there were many times when we felt weary. Traveling with a newborn is an adjustment, but we are so thankful for the many ways that God demonstrated His strength! We praise Him for His enablement during our times of ministry.

Not only are we thankful for God’s strength, we are thankful for the safety that He granted. It rained almost every day that we were in New England, and it was always raining when we were traveling. We were glad to face rain and not snow! During our meetings, we were able to experience a variety ministries – some new, some old, some large, some small. Yet, in all those different ministries, we rejoice in the good fellowship that we had with other believers. We enjoyed meeting and learning from many different pastors. The Lord brought along several people who were particularly encouraging. This is always such a refreshment for us!

We have a big matter of praise and prayer to share. Another church recently partnered with us, and this brought our support level up to 46% - what a blessing! We praise the Lord for the support of Beth Eden Baptist Church. We have another church voting on us this month. Please pray that the Lord would direct according to His will! We are praying that our support will be at least 50% by the end of the year.

We have one more meeting for 2018. We will travel to Keystone Baptist Church in Berryville, Virginia in early December. We do not travel again until January. Our first stop will be a week of training and strategic planning for Ecuador. This will take place at BMW’s Home Office in Lawrenceville, GA. After that, we look forward to spending time at our home church in Greenville, SC! We are still working on filling our 2019 schedule. Please pray that the Lord would be our help as we plan and schedule for next year. For our current itinerary, please click HERE.

As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, we cannot help but reflect on all that God has done in the past year. Last fall, we were facing some discouragement because our schedule was very empty, our support level was very low, and Lisa was also battling some physical issues. One year later, our 2018 schedule was full, our support has more than doubled, and we have a precious little boy. Proverbs 16:9 has been a verse that we have revisited so much in the past year – “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” While the path has not been easy, we are thankful for how the Lord has directed our steps. He has indeed dealt bountifully with us (Psalm 13:6)!

Thank you for your faithful prayers for us!

About Us

Our hearts are burdened for the Ecuadorian people who have never heard the Gospel, people who have been blinded by traditions and customs. We hope to reach these people with the love of Christ. Our desire is to build the church by evangelizing the lost, making disciples and training leaders.
