Committing Our Way - February 2019
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” ~ Psalm 37:5
This past month, we have been making a lot of plans: contacting churches, scheduling meetings and hoping that they will result in ministry partnerships. While we make plans, we realize that God is in control. We trust Him to lead us to the churches and individuals that He would have to partner with us. As we put our plans in His hands and commit our way to Him, we anticipate what He will do!
During the month of February, we had meetings every week. One of those meetings was at a new church, and we also had the opportunity to re-visit several supporting churches. It was a blessing to be able to continue building relationships with these church families. We were also glad to share the 4World Initiative with those churches. One of our supporting churches provided a missionary home for us to live in for three weeks. It was helpful to stay in one area without the need to travel in between meetings.
We are excited to share several ways that God has provided for us in the past month! Many of you have been praying for Simon’s colic. In the past two weeks, we have seen significant improvement in him. He is also doing better in his car seat, thanks to some special toys that a member of a supporting church purchased for him. We must say, THANK YOU for all of your prayers in this regard. God met another need that we had by providing a new laptop from a supporting church. As you can see, God has provided in so many ways. We are so thankful for these gifts that serve as ebenezers for years to come.
We are constantly reminded that while we plan our way, God directs our steps. Some of the churches we have contacted have not responded to us. Yet, for every unsuccessful contact, we’ve had a church contact us for a meeting. It has been amazing to see the Lord fill up our schedule. We have been praying for Him to direct us to the churches that He wants us to visit, and He has truly been doing that. We can only bow in humility and praise Him with grateful hearts.
In the next few weeks, we will be traveling to Missouri, Illinois, Kansas and Massachusetts. Most of these are new meetings, including two missions conferences. We are eager to fellowship with other missionaries, and we even get to attend conferences with some missionary friends. We enjoy missions conferences because we get to share our burden for Ecuador with so many people. The more we talk about Ecuador, the more our burden increases. We are so eager to get there!
Thank you for your prayers for us and for the people of Ecuador!
