God's Profitable Word - March 2022

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ~

Over the past few weeks, God has placed several people in our path with whom we’ve been able to talk about the Bible. These people are from different cults and religions, yet they all claim to believe what the Bible says. During these conversations, Jeff has been able to point out different areas where their beliefs do not align with Scripture. Praise God that we do not have to speak eloquent words. Our faith is not based in traditions or myths, but rather on the truth of God’s inspired, inerrant Word. We are thankful for these conversations, and we covet your prayers as we have more opportunities to speak with these individuals.

God has given us a unique opportunity with our landlady, Gabriella, and her mother, Gladys. They are devout Jehovah’s Witnesses. When we signed our lease, Gladys gave us several of their pamphlets, explaining that everything they teach is from the Bible. Jeff has been able to speak with her on several occasions. She is very dedicated and wants to meet with Jeff on a weekly basis to continue their discussions. It is helpful for Lisa to listen to these conversations because it allows her to build her vocabulary as she continues growing in her use and knowledge of Spanish.

Last Friday, the Riobamba Bible Institute started a new semester. We are so excited that these classes are being held in person! It is always exciting to see things return to pre-covid regulations. More and more people are returning to our Sunday gatherings, rather than attending through Zoom. The church actually needs to purchase more chairs - praise God!

For the past two weeks, we’ve been adjusting to being a family of 4! Baby Titus joined us on Wednesday, March 16th. Due to some complications, Lisa required an emergency C-section; we are thankful for the quick actions of her doctor. God has been so kind and merciful to us. The pregnancy began and ended with complications, so it is truly a miracle of God that Lisa and Titus are both safe and healthy! Please continue to pray for Lisa’s recovery and for our adjustment to having an infant in the house again.

The Double Scoop

Simon is enjoying his baby brother, but he is still adjusting to not being an only child. He is learning how to be gentle and how to be a big helper to Mommy and Daddy. Titus is enjoying his luxurious life of eating and sleeping. He is very calm and quiet, and he sleeps through just about anything!

Praise and Prayer:

1. Praise: Safe arrival of Titus

2. Praise: Friday night Bible Institute

3. Pray: Opportunities to share with those around us

4. Pray: Lisa's recovery; adjustment to being a family of 4
